Tales From A Nomad In No Man’s Land WRITTEN BY: TONY D. ANDERSON While I was thinkin’ back to the 1980’s About the drug war Now they say we’ve spent more on this war Than all the other wars combined It was around this same time, That all this started up, A whole lot of mental hospitals Shut down for good, All the occupants just spilled on out Into the neighborhoods, we’ll call em’ homeless Did we the people do this? Then I jumped up, 1991, to Portland, Oregon Started meetin’ a lot of Vietnam veterans, Native American Indians, who had a particular liking, A respect, an affinity, for the thunderbird So I stopped and I listened to what they had to say On that average six, seven, eight hour day I’d be outside strummin’ away on Morrison Avenue See, they were they only folks who didn’t have Any place to go, I was on their home turf, ya’ know Except that one day, the banker on his lunch break Wanted to trade places with me I said, “ No thanks “ Well it doesn’t matter how old you are When it hits you, if it’s true Propaganda points to what time tells Fact or fiction, which makes for better news? Ah someone just play me a good song or two That helps get me through Then I noticed something kind of interesting Sort of disturbing around the holidays, Especially Christmas Anybody out there on the streets maybe looked A little undesirable, begging with a paper cup They drove em’ clear outta’ downtown Swept em’ off the sidewalks like a high pressure, Power washer steam cleaner, on Hollywood Boulevard One day, one of the cops came up to me, he said, “ Tony, those people, they’re bad for business When the shoppers’ see em’ it makes em’ all depressed They don’t wanna’ buy anything. “ I said, “ Oh what a mess. “ I saw a lot of fancy cars choking down main-street While pretty girls, skip to the beat of a lonesome heart I got to thinkin’ I realized, there’s no parking lots For thoughts on stars, each one wishing for what The others got Learnin’ what I learn, moneys a concern Sometimes I leave behind Situations strike, complications outta your control I’m broke, but I manage to find The right places, at the right times Well it doesn’t matter how old you are When it hits you, if it’s true Propaganda points to what time tells Fact or fiction, which makes for better news? Ah someone just play me a good song or two That helps get me through Copyright © 2006 by Tony D. Anderson / Six Foot And Sea Level Records

Hot Rod Vixen WRITTEN BY: TONY D. ANDERSON You can tell by the way she walks, Yeah, the way she talks, the girls’ on fire Yeah she’s lookin’ fine, yeah she’s lookin’ fine She’s lookin’ fine, with her tight shirt on Sweet sweet smells, and now I begin to worry She’s sittin’ on my floor, a blazin’ billion dollar fury Two steps more, and I will be done for Yeah, I’ve been here before Yeah, I’ve been here before My legs can’t seem to stand, I’m glued to the floor The thoughts are runnin’ through my mind, Runnin’ through my mind, as she leans my way What a view, my my I can’t think of anyplace, I’d rather be right now I can feel the power and suspense that’s in the air I can’t think of any reason for me to move ever again My back leaned up against the wall Thinkin’ to myself, what’s it, worth after all? My fist clenched tight, outta’ sight in a ball Do I need her help in remindin’ me to recall That home is a feelin’ warm, warm inside You can tell by the way she stops Yeah, she’s hip and she hops at the drop of a dime Yeah, she’s lookin’ fine, yeah she’s lookin’ fine She’s lookin’ fine, with her tight shirt on With the warmth of her flame, I sure wouldn’t wanna’ feel her freeze Her stallions’ in the shed, this ponys’ on bended knees She dressed up like a hot rod In place to zoom down the track I know I know better, hot rod vixen I’ll probably call ya’ back I know I know better, hot rod vixen I’ll probably call ya’ back Copyright © 2000 by Tony D. There You Go Again WRITTEN BY: TONY D. ANDERSON Things were lookin’ up, the sky was jet blue I couldn’t stop thinkin’ or talkin’ bout’ you Life is short, put your worries aside Take your time and enjoy the ride Well ya wanna’ be cool, well understand Sometimes things don’t work out like ya planned But ya fight it, ya do it Do you do what they tell ya? Recycled dreams and the visions they sell ya Everybody wants to be free It’s not so hard and it’s so easy to see That everybody, I mean everybody wants to be free I’ve got my own revolutions The streets are my institutions One of these days when we free the solutions We’ll get it right And with the way that the road goes on and on There’s no place that can keep ya’ Like it feels when you’ve stayed some place too long Think you can pay the price, think you can get it for a song? Keep talkin’ straight, don’t kid yourself and ya’ gotta’ stay head strong Well I don’t even know how I ever got through Or how I even ever started talkin’ to you Every place I go, your face is around Baby, your beauty haunts me, like a lonesome town Maybe a little love sick, you know how it can be scary Try to remind myself of how temporary Everything in life can be so fragile and delicate Some people cause pain, just for the hell of it Everybody wants to be free It’s not so hard and it’s so easy to see That everybody, I mean everybody wants to be free I’ve got my own revolutions The streets are my institutions One of these days when we free, the solutions We’ll get it right, oh god I hope we get it right Copyright © 2006 by Tony D. Mighty America & the Two Tired Horses WRITTEN BY: TONY D. ANDERSON We came and told the Indians, what do ya’ know? Here’s some blankets with some small pox Here ya’ go, here ya’ go Lord I know In the land known as the South, Where cotton used to be king They say the Yankees up North, Keep industrializing everything Everything that we grow Some headed out West Through that old Cumberland Gap They brought infections and pollutions’ And those big smoke stacks that blow Lord, how they blow Everywhere I’ve been I hear what people have to say About mighty America And the grave gravel road that we’ve paved The grave gravel road we’ve paved Forget about the miners Forget about the gold There’s two tired horses in the middle of the road That I know, Lord I know What about the soldiers in the jungles And the rest of all the wars Did they really know back then What they were fightin’ for? I know, Lord I know I guess it’s always been a struggle In this world to survive You’ve got to keep your head above water If you’re gonna’ stay alive, I know Lord I know Everywhere I’ve been I hear what people have to say About mighty America And the grave gravel road that we’ve paved Grave gravel road we’ve paved Copyright © 2000 by Tony D. Can’t Fool Myself WRITTEN BY: TONY D. ANDERSON Well I think by now you found my long lost letter Go ahead pick it up, if it might make ya’ feel better Half way there, whatcha’ gonna’ do? Fool for rock n’ roll, makin’ love to you Well I packed it up, I packed it in I pushed myself farther than I’ve ever been Things haven’t been the same, since I met you Well don’t turn away, I was only gonna’ say Cupid’s poison darts, headed straight for the lonely hearts It’s always been that way That’s how it’s gonna’ stay I can’t fool myself, I can’t tell no lies Can’t hide what’s on my face or in, my eyes Things are gonna’ work out, just like ya’ said they would Well I tried it out, tried and true Fallin’ faster all the time, tired of feelin’ blue Just gotta’ make it out, gotta’ make it through It seems it’s all ya’ might have left to do Well don’t turn away, I was only gonna’ say That cupid’s poison darts, headed straight for the lonely hearts It’s always been that way That’s how it’s gonna’ stay Copyright © 2016 by Tony D. Stolen Moments & Stealin’ Time WRITTEN BY: TONY D. ANDERSON Wanna look up and see your face, I tried everything, but can’t replace Your happiness, your warm glow I wanna know, where’d it go? Now everything has turned to blue, Ya turned off those baby blues I flipped around, I fell down, I got no one to put my arms around Guess I was thinkin’ Like I always do Thinkin’ bout’ you and me, Thinkin’ we might make it through Stolen moments and stealin’ time Ya mixed it up, ya crossed the line Thought you fixed your blues, fixed your sadness Ya got confused, and it led to madness Love and affection from the start, Only true love can break your heart, Feel like you’re broken and you’re burnt down, And the loneliness keeps crashin’ down Guess I was thinkin’ Like I always do Thinkin’ bout’ you and me, Thinkin’ we might make it through Guess I was thinkin’ Like I always do Thinkin’ bout’ you and me, Thinkin’ we might make it through Copyright © 2016 by Tony D. Apricot Moonshine / Las Vegas Hash WRITTEN BY: TONY D. ANDERSON Drinkin’ apricot moonshine, smokin’ Las Vegas hash I chased it down and then I laid around Then I ran all out of cash Been around many towns It’s changed me now, I’m still havin’ a blast In the blink of an eye, from low to high It can all change so fast It’s a mass illusion, I’m not too distracted to see They say, “ Time is money “ But time means so much more than that to me Time means so much more than that to me Time means so much more than that to me You’ve got nothin’ to lose, you’ve even lost all fear Like an orphan on the run, baby with a pop gun Drag around a pound of sugar, like a pioneer Followed my bliss, both far and near Ya’ can’t outrun the moment, ya can always just disappear It’s a mass illusion, I’m not too distracted to see They say that, time is money But time means so much more than that to me Time means so much more than that to me Time means so much more than that to me Enjoyin’ the things money can’t buy Can’t take away, what no one can ever own Tell it like it is I’ve got my dreams to keep me warm and satisfied When I’m alone It’s a mass illusion, I’m not too distracted to see They say, “ Time is money “ But time means so much more than that to me Time means so much more than that to me Time means so much more than that to me Copyright © 2006 by Tony D.
